LEGAL NOTICE & DISCLAIMER
CRNO provides an independent watch authentication and status-reporting service designed to support transparency, risk assessment, and crime reduction within the luxury-watch market.
1. Nature of the Authentication Service
CRNO authentication services are carried out by independent, CRNO-approved professional authenticators based on physical inspection, documentation provided, and industry expertise available at the time of inspection.
Authentication outcomes represent a professional opinion, not a guarantee, certification of origin by the manufacturer, or an absolute determination of authenticity.
2. Traffic-Light Status System
CRNO uses a traffic-light status system (Green, Amber, Red) to communicate the condition, documentation, and authentication status of a watch within the CRNO network.
Green indicates the watch has been professionally authenticated by a CRNO-approved expert.
Amber indicates supporting documentation is present, but full CRNO authentication has not yet been completed.
Red indicates no supporting documentation or authentication is present at the time of assessment.
Statuses are informational and must not be interpreted as warranties, guarantees, or valuations.
3. No Manufacturer Affiliation
CRNO is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any watch manufacturer, brand, or trademark holder unless explicitly stated in writing.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
CRNO does not accept liability for losses arising from reliance on authentication outcomes, documentation status, or traffic-light classifications.
CRNO is not responsible for hidden defects, undisclosed modifications, future alterations, or counterfeit techniques not detectable at the time of inspection.
CRNO does not guarantee future market value, resale success, or insurance acceptance.
5. Insurance & Resale
Authentication status and documentation visibility do not constitute insurance approval or a binding assessment for underwriting or resale purposes.
Insurers, retailers, platforms, and buyers remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence.
6. Ownership, Transfers & Updates
Authentication status is linked to a CRNO ID and may change if:
The watch is re-authenticated
New information or documentation is provided
Ownership is transferred
The watch is reported stolen or recovered
CRNO reserves the right to update or amend a watch’s status to maintain network integrity.
7. User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for:
The accuracy and legality of information submitted
Lawful ownership of the watch
Compliance with local laws and regulations
CRNO does not verify legal title or ownership disputes.
8. No Disabling of Watches
CRNO does not disable, interfere with, or control physical watches.
All authentication outcomes are informational only.
9. Governing Law
These authentication terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
10. Third-Party Database Checks & Information Sharing
As part of its authentication and risk-assessment processes, CRNO utilises trusted third-party partnered databases, including The Watch Register and Enquirus, to perform serial-number and status checks.
Where a serial number check indicates a potential match, alert, or status of concern, relevant watch details may be securely shared with the applicable third-party partner for the purposes of verification, investigation, or clarification.
In such circumstances:
The relevant third-party partner may contact the user directly to discuss the result
CRNO does not control the outcome, process, or decision-making of third-party databases
Any engagement between the user and a third-party partner is governed by that partner’s own terms, policies, and procedures
CRNO acts as a facilitator of information, not as the owner, operator, or decision-maker of third-party databases.
